Photographer Megan Crandlemire’s series 52 Magic Mondays Exhibit

Emerse yourself in beautiful, striking photography on display at the Brookfield Town Hall through January 2017. The public is invited to view selections from Connecticut photographer Megan Crandlemire’s series 52 Magic Mondays.

Megan spent most of 2016 journeying into New York City every Monday to walk, explore and photograph the city. She expects to complete all 52 trips on January 2, 2017.

“I let each Monday unfold as it would like. I have a general plan when I head into the city, but nothing set in stone. I have no idea how far I’ll walk, who I’ll meet and what kind of scenes I will photograph. As the weeks have passed, I’ve come to realize that photography is my meditation. My mind is clear as I wander the streets of New York, I am just an observer taking in each moment of now.”

Megan’s images are part of an original and evolving 52 week street photography project she took on for 2016. She travels by train into New York City every Monday to walk, explore and
photograph the city. She expects to complete the journey on January 2, 1017.

She read the book Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert in late November 2015. Ms. Gilbert’s theory is that “ideas” are like little creatures floating around in the ether looking to be nurtured and helped to thrive. It was an interesting concept and inspired the name she chose for this project.
